The Amplified Bible

The mission of a prophet...

The Prophets ministry is to:

    1. Confirm: (Webster's says- to verify; strengthen) Strong's says (accomplish, be clearer , to lift up, to decree; (read PS. 2:7; "I will declare the decree".)

    2. Correct: (definition- to change mistakes; make right, to correct the vision of the house) . Turn to Job 5:17 (read) Proverbs 3:11-12 says to, "despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be ye weary of His corrections; for who the Lord loves he correcteth; even as a father the son delights Verse 13, "Happy is the man who findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding ".

    3. Revive: (Webster's says- to bring back to life; Strong's says; to give, to promise, nourish up, recover, restore) Ps. 138:7 tells us "though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me".

    4. Protect: (Webster's says- to guard against, defend) Strong's says- a protector, the hide of a  crocodile; as an armor; Question: Do you have tough skin or are you easily offended? Our Father helps us to "endure hardships as a good soldier, "ll Tim. 2:3

    5. Expand: (Webster's- to become larger;) turn & read Is. 54:2-4;10,14 Note: There are times when a prophet will come and say that increase is on the way. Many times you'll know that it's time to enlarge your business or increase your sowing and make plans for the increase of the Lord.

    6. Warn: (Webster's- to caution) read Col. 1:26-28;  Eze. 3:20-21; ("he shall surely live, because he is warned") Heb.11:7 (Noah, being warned by God of things not seen yet) Ez. 33:5 says ("but he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.) Strong's says that warn means divinely intimate; to acts towards or furnish  what is needed. Note: God uses warnings to help your vision survive the hard times.

    7. Pronounce: Judgment (to determine guilt, present opinion; to say clearly) Ps. 19:9 tells us that "the fear of the Lord is clean and  enduring forever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
